This is a lesson on always having your camera on hand no matter what the conditions. This particular evening it had been pouring rain almost non-stop, with thick, heavy cloud cover and conditions generally not conducive to a colourful sunset. However, I swung by Sydney's Curl Curl beach anyhow and waited.
Amazingly, the rain abated and colour broke through, the rain saturating everything into intense reds. I quite literally ran down to the beach, dashed into the water and set up a quick composition, unable to believe my luck and noting that seemingly I was the only one around to witness such a light show. This remains one of my favourite images with the kind of light you're only liable to see once in a lifetime.
