This is what's known by photographers as the 'Devil's cauldron' at Sydney's Whale Beach, given the way the water seems to surge up in toil before washing back away. It's quite humbling to be standing nearby and feel the force of nature underneath and around you as the ocean goes about it's business. I was also blessed with strong, vivid colours this particular morning, a long exposure turning the water to mist and creating a sense of calm in the foreground.
